DOG SEARCH

We are looking for dogs with everyday remedial issues that can be used in the seminar to help educate people and improve the relationship they have with their dog. There are three stages to the process;

1. The Dog Search

Potential owners put forward their dog to be involved in the seminar via the application form on this site. We will then review all the forms and short list the dogs we would like to see at the Dog Selection.

2. The Dog Selection

This will take place on the day of each seminar (or in some cases a day before, time and location will be advised). Being at the selection does not mean your dog will automatically be chosen to be used at the seminar. As you can appreciate a seminar is a live event. We need to make sure that the dogs we choose;

• Demonstrate the things we want to demonstrate,  
• We ensure the dog’s welfare and appropriateness for use in the seminar,
• We have backups should any of the chosen dogs not be able to make it on the night due to last minute illness etc.  Back up dogs will also be selected at the dog selection.

3. The Seminar

During the seminar, all dogs will be housed in a crated environment back stage and supervised at all times by a vet nurse. We will also have a qualified handler and vet onsite. Owners are welcome to stay with their dogs or observe the area prior to the show. Owners will have special seats for the seminar and will be required to come on stage to speak with Cesar about the dog during the seminar.

What we ARE looking for

If you have a socialised dog that fits any of the following descriptions;

• A hyperactive adult dog (age over 2 years) pulls on the lead when I walk him/her
• A teenage dog (age 9 month to 2 years) that has no manners he/she jumps all over people/the couch/doesn’t wait at the door or rushes his food, doesn’t sit and wait for food
• My dog is obsessed with an objects – ball/toy etc

What we are NOT looking for

Cesar’s first responsibility is to the dogs he is working with and due to the live seminar environment he has limited time. Therefore we DON’T want dogs with remedial problems that would require lengthy training as this isn’t fair to the dog. We are looking for dogs that have “everyday” problems that the people in the audience would face at home and can learn from. Therefore, we are not looking for dogs that display aggression towards humans or other dogs, or are so timid/ nervous that it would be unfair to bring them into a show environment. Cesar will cover these issues in the Live Show however for the sake of the dogs he will do this using video and explanation of why these issues occur and what steps you can take to resolve these with your dog.
